We are responsible for delivering social infrastructure and social development programme management services on behalf of government. The social infrastructure programmes we deliver include public schools, clinics, community centres, government offices and these are predominantly in rural communities in the nine provinces of South Africa.

The Food for Waste Programme is an initiative aimed at providing waste management and collection services to municipalities which do not have such services. This programme contributes to a clean and healthy environment for the communities, and creating job opportunities for the community members who do not have jobs.

The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Food Security Programme (FSP) is implemented by the IDT on behalf of the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform (DRDLR). The aim of the programme is to the build vibrant, equitable and sustainable communities who are able to grow and produce food for their own subsistence and in the long run, for market purposes. Community members plough vegetables and dry crops and harvest these for the purpose of selling them to needy communities. The programme provides communities with inputs such as seeds and services e.g. ploughing and reaping equipment, as well as skills development through training and mentoring.
