PDF Print E-mail

this is the IDT’s programme aimed at uplifting and empowering previously disadvantaged entrepreneurs by providing them opportunities in the Building and Construction Industry. The end result will be a pool of capable, sustainable, self sufficient and highly skilled contractors who are able to compete with the best in the infrastructure development sector.

Who can benefit from the CDP?

Previously disadvantaged contractors, including Black people and women contractors can benefit from this programme. The qualifying contractor must be registered on the IDT supplier database as a contractor who delivers construction services on the IDT social infrastructure programmes.

The contractor must also be registered with the Construction Industry Development Board at level or grade 1 to 5.

How do I participate in the CDP?

An advert will be posted on the national and provincial newspaper inviting potential candidates to participate in the programme.  Eligible candidates must satisfy the criteria which include amongst other things:

  • Registration with the CIDB at grade 1 to 5;
  • From previously disadvantaged background;
  • Must own or be part of a registered construction enterprise;
  • Must have a valid tax clearance certificate.
