The IDT 2008/09 Annual Report warmly welcomed by the community of Mavele Village

The public presentation of 2008/09 Annual Report took place on 26 October, at the state-of-the-art, Sevengwana High School, in Mavele village in the Greater Tzaneen Municipality. The 2008/09 public presentation had special significance to the IDT because the IDT publicly announced its seventh unqualified audit report done by the Auditor General on 31 March 2009.  Not only that, the venue of the event was the school which was built under the IDT’s Eradication of Mud Schools Programme in partnership with the Limpopo Department of Education.  The school was a R48 million project that was officially opened by the former State President, Mr. Kgalema Motlante in April 2009.

The CEO of the IDT Ms Thembi Nwedamutswi presented a heart-warming address about the work of the IDT where it has made a difference in people’s lives. She outlined the three performance case studies where the IDT’s efforts have impacted on the lives of the people that it serves.  These are the construction of the house for the destitute family in Mboza in KwaZulu-Natal as a response to the call of Mandela Day.  The second was the 2009 Contractor Awards where women contractors in the construction and built environment industry strived for excellence on the work at all times.

The third case study was the handover of Dalisoka School in Elucingweni village in Nyandeni Municipality, in the Eastern Cape.  The IDT gave the learners in this school a chance to get better education by providing them with an environment that is conducive to learning and growth.
