We are responsible for delivering social infrastructure and social development programme management services on behalf of government. The social infrastructure programmes we deliver include public schools, clinics, community centres, government offices and these are predominantly in rural communities in the nine provinces of South Africa.

Access to an effective health system is one of the priorities of the South African Government. In order to improve access to health services, various Departments of Health have contracted the IDT to manage implementation of health infrastructure programmes aimed at addressing backlogs in the health sector. The IDT is currently implementing health infrastructure programmes in Mpumalanga, KwaZulu-Natal, Northern Cape, and Limpopo provinces. In the KwaZulu-Natal province, the IDT had, in the past, supported the Department of Health to manage procurement and installation of medical and laundry equipment in hospitals and community health centres. The health infrastructure facilities, managed by the IDT also include renovation of training colleges for nurses, residential houses for the medical staff residing within the health centre premises, and administration facilities.
