The HLP also focuses on include preserving the memory of struggle heroes, great community and political leaders who worked tirelessly in order to bring democracy. The IDT is implementing HLP projects in the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Free State, Limpopo and Gauteng provinces.
Over and above the HLP, the IDT is contracted by some provincial Departments of Arts and Culture to provide urban and rural community library infrastructure facilities with the aim of promoting connection and accessibility to information to the broader South African community.
